Discussion Questions
1. Read through Proverbs 9 and study the invitations that both wisdom and folly give to the simple. Wisdom invites the simple to come and receive wisdom and walk in the right way. In what areas of my spiritual life do I lack wisdom? How can I learn God’s wisdom in these areas?
2. Proverbs 9:13 declares that folly knows nothing, but yet invites the simple to follow her. In 2 Corinthians 10:3-6, Paul speaks of casting down arguments and lofty opinions that try to stand against the knowledge of God. The idea of “lofty opinions” refers to ideas that sound good and logical, but are actually false. The world around us claims great knowledge and wisdom and tries to reject the knowledge of God. What philosophies of the world around us oppose the knowledge of God, and how does the Bible give us God’s truth to answer those false ways of thinking?
3. How do we typically receive confrontation and correction? How should we receive correction if we are to be described as the wise man of Proverbs 9:9-10?
